Child’s Destiny of Hope is a Christian aid and development organization that seeks to reach out to desperate and helpless orphaned children in Africa. CDHope is founded on God’s commandment to ‘love thy neighbour as thyself’ – to reach out to those who are completely weighed down by their circumstances. The Bible tells us how Jesus dedicated himself selflessly to alleviate suffering, to give life, to heal and restore what had been broken and set people on the right path towards God and fellow men. Our desire is to emulate His example.

Child’s Destiny of Hope came into existence when Tim and Wilma Omalla decided to take care of children in Uganda. In 2007 they moved to Uganda. Their heart’s desire was to found and start a mission among under-privileged children which offers hope for the future through education, attention and care. Their project was soon embraced by the church community to which they belonged, Crossroads International Church of The Hague.

With the support of Crossroads, they set out on the 1st of July 2007 and arrived in Kampala on July 11th. Soon after, they found a house that could serve as a base. Since then, they have moved to the village of Chawolo where they acquired some land on which stood a house and a clinic. The clinic was renovated and transformed into a children’s home in which children can reside.

Wherever possible the children live with their own family and CDHope facilitates good schooling for them. The children and their families are visited regularly to see how they are doing and if they require medical assistance. The children participate in the weekly program organized by CDHope. Those who no longer have a family or whose family cannot care for them (because of AIDS, for example) are taken into the CDHope children’s home. In 2012 a nursery school was erected on the same piece of land where the small children’s home is situated, and in 2013 the first two classes of the secondary school have been completed.
