Tim and Wilma Omalla

The passion that drives Tim and Wilma, is to make a difference in the lives of young desperate people. They met in Uganda in 1995 where they both worked in an orphanage. They fell with each another, but also with working with children and young people in Uganda. They married in 1999 and settled in the Netherlands where Wilma worked as a social worker at MEE Foundation (formerly SPD) and Tim as a data (network) analyst at AT&T. Their sons Eugene and Jaimie were born in October 2000. However, their desire to help children in need did not go away. Child’s Destiny of Hope was established in 2006 when they decided to return to Africa. The well-planned return became reality in July 2007. Tim and Wilma both have extensive experience in development and relief work in Africa. Wilma’s experience in social work, sponsor programs and counseling are useful. She also has the necessary experience as a manager. Tim has extensive experience in the many roles that come with running an orphanage, including that of gardener, chauffeur, teacher and manager (finance and personnel).

The love of God who sent Jesus to the world is also the love that drives us. Our contribution may only be small, but we hope that you want to join in and participate and want to take up a role just as God intended.

The work began immediately and it grows daily. Currently they take care of the orphanage, of the nursery, primary and secondary school, of disadvantaged children who attend the village primary school through sponsoring and they are active in the local community and the local church. Each week Tim and Wilma reach 250 children with their afternoon program. Stories from the Bible are read and there are activities such as crafts, sports, games, soccer and netball. The children are motivated to participate actively and the children’s families are visited to provide complete assistance. You can reach Tim and Wilma by sending them an email at:

Child’s Destiny of Hope is committed to helpless and desperate children in Africa.
