Child’s Destiny of Hope

Child's Destiny of Hope is a relief and development organization with a Christian background. Child's Destiny of Hope has an orphanage in Chawolo, Uganda where it tries to give children a better future. On this website you will find more information.

Child’s Destiny of Hope is run by a board. We would like to introduce you to the board.

Henk van der Vliet (Chairman)

Henk is employed by small and medium enterprises in the field of financial and administrative support. “Lately I have been thinking about my contribution as a volunteer for the Third World. After Tim and Wilma’s presentation about their work in Uganda, it became clear to me that I wanted to make a contribution as well. I hope that, with God’s help, we can continue to build the organization from the Netherlands so that we can support Tim and Wilma with all their staff and so that they will be able to offer a good future to the orphans in Uganda.”

Paul Tameling (Vice Chairman and Treasurer)

Paul advises, coaches and trains organizations and leaders in industry, services and government. “Nothing touches and motivates me more than when people structure their lives based on love for their fellow humans so that these people can live up to their potential and realize their ambitions. Within CDHope this is done in a well-considered manner, inspired by the example that Jesus gives us. His heart goes out to the most vulnerable and the poor. CDHope’s projects make the structural difference between living a life and suffering. CDHope helps people on the edge of socioeconomic security to be able to live a life with hope and perspective. As a Christian as well as an entrepreneur I feel privileged to contribute to that”.

Bert van Vreeswijk (Secretary)

Bert: “It is my pleasure to take part in CDHope’s custom of introducing myself as new board member. My name is Bert van Vreeswijk and for the past three years I have been enjoying pre-retirement from Philips Telecommunications where I used to work. I am married to Gerrie Schoenmaker and we have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren.
Since a young age I have been itching to do something meaningful for others and at this time of my life I want to give back in gratitude for all of my blessings. When I went to Chawolo last year it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to devote more of my time to the children and the village and to the whole organization of CDHope. My role on the Board will be focused on coordinating and assisting fund-raising projects for CDHope. Please contact me if you would like to start up a project.”

Nellie van der Vliet (Boardmember)

Nellie works as a nanny, an administrative assistant and also runs the household. She already helped a bit in the background. “After I was with Tim and Wilma in Chawolo, I wanted to get more involved with the Foundation. The post of boardmember fell vacant and I had already picked up some experience with the children’s bible school of the Reformed Church. I would be glad to contribute, because Tim and Wilma and their staff are doing a terrific job in Chawolo”.

Aad Dekker (Boardmember)

Aad Dekker is married with Stephanie and together they have two doughters. Aad works at Bonaventura a Carefarm from Profilazorg. “With this special people we take care for the animals, flowers and the land. Daily I see what it means to be depended on the care that you get. But also the potencial that people can reach and to challenge them to reach their potencial. To make people involved into this world or to open their eyes for the beauty of flowers or music. It takes a village to rase a child! By poverty people lack possibilities to develop themselves further. This is exactly why Christ send His friends into this world, go and learn them all about Me. In 2012 we went to Chawolo with a group from crossroads to live out this mission. Its so beautifull that the people in Chawolo get to hear and to see the most important news they need; Christ came to save this world, Christ is the hope of the nations, God loves me and you! The Love that is invested in this community I could experience, give and receive there myzelf to. I believe that everyday we have the choice to do something good in this world, even a small act of kindness. The glory of God is a human fully alive”.

Child’s Destiny of Hope is committed to helpless and desperate children in Africa.
