The work of Child’s Destiny of Hope depends on people supporting us. Who could you talk to about our work and motivate to also get involved? Here are some simple steps you can take.

• Make a list of people you could talk to. Carefully consider the networks of which you are part. Include

• Family
• Colleagues
• Employers – many employers are willing to support charities as it boosts the corporate image of social commitment.
  1. Neighbours
  2. People in church – don’t forget your church leadership.
  3. People at your social/sports/hobby club
  4. Friends

• Initiate a conversation with the people on your list. Do it over lunch or dinner, or while walking together. Simply start by saying: “Hey, I have come across this charity that does some really significant work in Africa, and I really like what they are doing. Can I tell you about it?” Towards the end of the conversation, ask a question like “Well, I’m getting involved with Child’s Destiny of Hope – and I would really like to work with you in this. Would you be interested in also becoming involved?”
  
  
• Organize an info evening for those people interested. You can invite one of the staff or BOD-members, who will be happy to come make a presentation and answer your questions.
  
  
• Discuss with your friends how you will become involved. Talk about who else you could get involved; how you could raise funds, or raise awareness about the orphans of Africa. Work together: it’s more fun and much more can be accomplished!
