14 oktober
Afgelopen zondag zijn Tim en Wilma op bezoek geweest in hun thuisgemeente, Crossroads. Ze hebben verteld over de voortgang van het project, en we hebben een Boeken- en CDmarkt gehouden om geld in te zamelen. Dankzij de Crossroaders, die hun boeken en CD's hebben gedoneerd en vervolgens hun geld, is het een groot succes geworden! We hebben ruim 1500 euro ingezameld! Klik hier voor foto's.

29 september
Tim en Wilma komen naar Nederland! Het bestuur van CDHop heeft ze uitgenodigd voor een tijd van teambuilding en fondsenwerving. Kijk voor meer informatie in de nieuwste nieuwsbrief. Op 12 oktober zijn ze in de Crossroads kerk om te vertellen over hun project. Er zal dan ook een boeken/CDmarkt zijn om geld in te zamelen.

22 september
CDHope groeit! Onlangs hebben we drie meisjes aan de familie toegevoegd: Suzan, Brenda en Miria. Alledrie verloren ze beide ouders aan AIDS. Ze zijn erg blij dat ze niet meer hard aan het werk zijn gravend op het land, om groenten te planten. In plaats daarvan gaan ze nu hard aan het werk om Engels te leren. Bovendien zijn we erg blij dat de verbouwing van onze huiswerk/speelkamer klaar is!

25 juli
Vorige week was de eerste wekelijkse samenkomst. Elke week komen we met alle kinderen bij elkaar voor een tijd van aanbidding, studie en gebed. Het stemt ons nederig te zien hoe God in hun harten werkt.

Er zijn wijzigingen in het bestuur. Helaas moet Ralph King het bestuur verlaten, omdat hij naar het buitenland verhuist. We zullen hem enorm missen. Het goede nieuws is dat we twee nieuwe mensen hebben gevonden om het team te versterken: Cristina Sovereign en Danielle Roeleveld. Binnenkort stellen we hen aan u voor.

7 April
Eugene en Jaimie en de kinderen van het project hebben een nieuwsbrief geschreven! Bekijk het hier .

1 April
CDHope zoekt nieuwe sponsors! (en dat is geen grapje!) Nu het werk van CDHope explosief groeit, groeien ook de kosten, en de behoefte aan gebed.

21 maart

10 Maart
Het heeft even geduurd, maar eindelijk zijn Emma (een jongen van 13) en zijn broertje Jonathan (10) ook in het tehuis van CDHope. En ze gaan ook al naar school. Suzan is nu het enige meisje, en voelt zich een beetje eenzaam. Gelukkig krijgen Tim en Wilma hulp van Carol, die van maandag tot vrijdag bij Suzan op de kamer slaapt. Als alles goed gaat, gaan Tim en Wilma binnenkort naar het oosten van Uganda om daar een kind op te halen.

20 februari 2007
Na het opknappen van de kamers, hebben Tim en Wilma de eerste twee kinderen opgenomen: Suzan en Benja, zus en broer van 14 en twaalf jaar. Ze zijn inmiddels begonnen met school. Omdat ze nauwelijks scholing hebben gehad, lopen ze een paar jaar achter op hun leeftijdsgenoten. Tim en Wilma zijn ook bezig om Emma en Jonathan, twee broers, op te nemen. Het werk begint nu echt!

October 5
The Container arrived!
Friday, on the twins' birthday, the container finally arrived with all the Omalla's furniture and other belongings. They are very happy to finally be sleeping in their own beds again, and still have lots of unpacking to do. When they're done, they will start preparing the childrens rooms, so the work can begin...

27 September 2007
Tim and Wilma and the boys have moved in to the new house, but without their furniture. The container is due to arrive in (hopefully) a week's time. Please pray that it will arrive as promised, and that they will be able to get electricity turned on.

06 September:
The Renovations are coming along nicely, though it's  proving difficult to work with schedules and deadlines in a culture that knows no such concepts. Most of the work is done, and as soon as the container arrives (hopefully in about a week) the family will move in.

The work on the house is nearly finished. Please pray the container arrives soon, so they can move in. Also, please pray for the arrival of their car, which they ordered from Japan.It will give them a lot more freedom and independance.It will also allow them to start finding the poor and needy children. Pray that God will protect the family and their properties, from robberies and theft. Also, life can be quite dangerous as the safety regulations are almost non existent, and fires and other accidents happen regularly. The boys are settling in nicely at school, praise God.

Lastly, please pray for our financial situation. We are very grateful for your support, but we are not fully reaching our financial goals yet, and we are experiencing some financial setbacks as well.

08 August:
The Omalla's have started work on their first house and on all the paperwork involved with starting an NGO in Uganda. Please pray that all goes smoothly, so that they'll soon be able to start taking in the children. Also, next week, the boys will be starting school. Pray that they will adjust to their new lives.

16 July:
The Omalla's have let us know that they have arrived safely in Uganda. Thank God for a smooth journey and pray that they will adjust to their new life.

12 July:
If all went well, the Omalla's should have arrived at Entebbe today, where Tim's family awaited them. Please pray for the first days and nights, that they will quickly recover from the jetlag and will have a smooth transition into  their new life.

10 July:
Tomorrow is the big day: The Omalla's leave at 16.30 for England first, and then Uganda. Please pray for the journey, the flight, and their night's rest, especially for the boys.

11 July 2007: Saying goodbye at Schiphol
The moment was finally there: The family Omalla, Wilma's family and a group of friends gathered at Schiphol to see the Omalla's off. It was a precious time when we said our goobyes, prayed for them and watched them go though customs. And something special happened: they were interviewed for a TVshow that features stories of people coming and going on Schiphol, called Hello Goodbye.

7 July 2007:
Only 4 more days to go. Please pray that Tim and Wilma will manage all those last minute details, such as packing belongings in the overseas container, and finding people who can help with that.
Also, pray for them as they say goodbye to their family, friends, collegues and church. And for the boys of course: their classmates at school.

1 July: Crossroads is sending out the Omalla family
On the 1st of July, the Crossroads church sent out the Omalla family with a blessing. The Crossroads Elder Board, CDHope Board and Wilma's father prayed for them, and the Worship Team performed a special song Family, friends and collegues of Tim and Wilma joined in the day to make it extra special to them. Afterwards we all enjoyed a light lunch together.
